Review: Virtue Michigan Cherry Cider
Few places in the country grow better cider apples than the Lake Michigan shore. Something about that lake effect provides all the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity you need for a cider that can rival the best wines. One of the better Michigan cideries is Virtue Cider, and our tasting panel recently sat down with the their Michigan Cherry.
Medium pink in the glass. Medium carbonation, nose of apricot, clove, and a touch of hay. Tartness hits you up front, with zest, dried lime, and cherry giving way to vanilla, honey, and a bit of caramel on the mid-palate, with a medium finish of vanilla and almond. Semi-dry.
